California Countryside

The weekend before last, we drove all the way down to Woodland, California to meet up with some of Andrew’s family and visit with his Nana. We rode horses, shot guns, cheered on banged-up cars at a demolition derby, toured a pistachio farm and enjoyed quality time with Andrew’s family. The visit was short but sweet 🙂 A few scenes from our time in the California countryside:

This adorable guy is Spike – he makes up the Quality Assurance Department: always making sure the water temperature is just right and that any varmints are cleared out of the area 🙂

It was wonderful to visit with everyone and simply spend time together. Before we knew it, our weekend was over and it was time to head out on the next leg of our journey (complete with two giant jars of Nutella that Andrew’s Nana forced us to take …. she really had to twist my arm 🙂 ) . Our plans were to head back to Oregon and camp for the night at Crater Lake. However, wildfires in the area led us to scrap that idea and journey back a different way. Stay tuned for our travels up the 101 along the coast!
